Spain vs England
Spain and England both made history as the former won its 4th Euro Cup trophy without losing a single match, and the latter settled as the runner-up in the Euro Cup for the second consecutive time. Spain took the lead in the 47th minute as Nico Williams scored the opening goal for his country with the assist from Lamine Yamal. In the 73rd minute, Cole Palmer, who substituted for Harry Kane, scored an equalizing goal with the help of Jude Bellingham. Thirteen minutes later, Mikel Oyarzabal managed to slide home Marc Cucurella’s cross. That goal alone broke England’s dream of ending 58 years without a trophy. It’s noteworthy that Lamine Yamal and Rodri were awarded Young Player of the Tournament and Player of the Tournament, respectively. With that, Spain is truly the biggest winner of Euro 2024.
