France vs Belgium
Who knows the clash between two giants of football can be this boring, and the most out of pocket thing about this match is that France won the match not by goals from Kylian Mbappé or any French footballer, but a late own goal by Jan Vertonghen. But it is what it is, good for France and they will be facing Portugal in the quarterfinals.
Portugal vs Slovenia
This is a happy yet sad match for both Portugal fans and Cristiano Ronaldo fans, as the legendary Portuguese player broke down in tears after missed penalty but fortunately Diogo Costa made it up for the team by saved three penalties in the shoot-out to help Portugal into the quarterfinals.
Romania vs Netherlands
Netherlands through to the next round with a 3-0 win over Romania, helped the Dutch into the quarterfinals of Euro 2024 for the first time in 16 years. Although the Dutch missed a hatful of scoring chances, but Cody Gakpo strike in the first half and a late double from half-time substitute Donyell Malen helped them to seal the deal. Netherlands will be facing Turkey in the quarterfinals.
Austria vs Turkey
The round of 16 ended in the most thrilling way as Austria and Turkey put up a hell of a performance, with Turkey stunning Austria to set up a quarterfinal with the Netherlands. Not to mention, Merih Demiral scored twice, with one of his goals breaking the record for the quickest knockout-stage goal in European Championship history.
